Call Up The Groups
On November 10th at The Spencer Club, Albany Road Earlson, there is to be a Call Up The Groups reunion night, a night open to anyone who was part of a band in Coventry & Warwickshire in the 1950’s and 60’s. It’s a free night, full of nostalgia, a chance to swap stories and meet up with old friends that you maybe haven’t seen in many years.
The event is being organised by former Vampire’s front man and local talent agent Vince Holliday and Coventry music journalist Pete Chambers.
Quote from Vince- “I have put this together because now is the time, we are all getting on a bit, I’m 70 years of age so it will be wonderful to see some old faces and have a chat and a laugh about the old times. I ‘m certain we will command a big turn-out on the night, I know that there is a lot of old rockers out there who will welcome an opportunity like this”.
Quote from Pete Chambers-“This type of thing was a long time coming, thanks to Vince and all his hard work it promises to be a magical night, especially for me, I’m a huge fan of local 50’s & 60’s music. I just hope I have time to pick everyone’s brain on the night”.
If you fancy attending, get in touch, this is a one off reunion custom-made for you guys and gals, when it’s gone it’s gone. We expect this event to be very popular so we are using a ticket system, and we ask band members and spouses only. It will be a first come, first served basis, a free event, designed for old rockers to have a drink and share their memories with each other. So bring along your photos, cuttings, records and scrapbooks, it starts at 7.00 on Thursday 10th November 2005, at The Spencer Club, Albany Road. Each couple will be issued with one ticket that admits two.
